Nokia C5 Review
Nokia has officially released its new C5, their latest smartphone, and first device in its new C-Series range, which caters for those looking to buy an entry-level smartphone. The C-Series is all about value for money, and with the C5 available for around £120, it’s probably going to be one of the best smartphones you can get for that sort of money.
So, what do you get for your money? Well, the C5 has the traditional candybar handset design, and comes packed with the Symbian S60 3rd Edition operating system. The screen is a TFT non-touch screen, measuring 2.2-inches, which is more than adequate for entry-level smartphone users. The camera is a capable 3.2 megapixels, and Nokia have already described the handset as a ‘smartphone optimised for social networking and sharing’. You can see what they mean.
The social networking features on the device are exceptional, and the plethora of communication and messaging tools will satisfy most. Also built-in to the phone are Ovi Mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo! Mail via Nokia Messaging is also built in, whilst direct access to Facebook and Myspace through some sleek icons is another excellent feature of the C5.
An on-board GPS and the recent update to Nokia’s Ovi Maps suite offers free turn-by-turn navigation out of the box, while in terms of the audio specifications, the C5 packs a stereo FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack and a stereo speaker. A 2GB microSD card is included in the box, with additional support for cards of up to 16GB. The battery life is a major plus, with up to 12 hours of talk time and 26 days on standby.
The phone is available in two colours, white, and grey.
