Motorola, Inc. announced QUENCH with MOTOBLUR, Motorola’s Android-powered content delivery service, which organizes messages and synchronizes contacts to keep conversations in constant motion. QUENCH’s sleek touch-screen design, combined with great navigational features such as pinch and zoom and a touch pad, as well as the inclusion of Adobe Flash Lite, make browsing the web on its 3.1” high-resolution display a breeze. Motorola QUENCH™ will be available beginning in the first quarter of 2010. In the U.S., it will be called CLIQ XT™ and be available next month exclusively through T-Mobile USA. This is the eighth Android-powered device launched by Motorola around the globe.

“As we continue to expand Motorola’s portfolio of Android-powered devices, we remain committed to delivering more of what people want from their handheld devices in easier ways,” said Sanjay Jha, co-CEO of Motorola and CEO of Motorola Mobile Devices and Home business. “QUENCH with MOTOBLUR showcases Motorola’s design heritage by offering a compelling differentiation from the traditional Android experience, giving people an easier way to have more messaging, more Web and more music.”

MOTOBLUR is Motorola’s Android-powered content delivery service created to make phones more personal and socially smart. It is the first solution to sync contacts, posts, messages, photos and much more — from sources such as Facebook®, MySpace, Twitter®, Gmail™, work and personal e-mail and Last.FM — and automatically deliver them to the home screen. Content is fed into easy-to-manage streams allowing you to spend less time managing your life and more time living it.

Messaging is made easier on QUENCH with the combination of MOTOBLUR features, a palm and pocket-friendly design and Swype, a new feature that makes responding to messages and entering text easier than ever. MOTOBLUR keeps happenings, messages, news feeds and more readily available for browsing and responding on the customizable home screen. Contact information, such as email addresses, profile pictures and phone numbers, is automatically synced whenever the details change online, so there’s no need to manually update.

QUENCH delivers a complete Web experience on a full touch-screen device with pinch and zoom capabilities. Navigation is enhanced with a front-facing, centrally-located touch pad, so it’s easier and more intuitive to flick through the Web. Adobe Flash Lite enables rich media content such as banners and videos to be displayed and fully enjoyed on the 3.1” high-resolution display.

The innovative new connected media player on QUENCH is not only connected to the Internet but your social networks as well. QUENCH connects you to your music with a new style of media player that lets you buy and instantly download music from an MP3 store while integrating third-party apps such as TuneWiki, SoundHound, GoTV, and YouTube™. The music search feature makes finding your songs easy while synchronized lyrics in any language you choose make learning songs easier than before. Share your favorite tracks, discover new ones2, find lyrics, watch videos, and stream FM radio.

QUENCH enables clear calls using dual microphones and noise cancellation technology, while crystal clear pictures are enabled by a 5.0 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. Finding information online or within the device is made even easier with voice-activated search (English only). Simply say what you are looking for and QUENCH will find contacts, serve up Google™ Web search results based on location, or launch applications. Android Market™ provides fast access to more than 20,000 apps and widgets for limitless customizations and enhancements to QUENCH. Extras such as 3G and Wi-Fi® access, aGPS and stereo Bluetooth®1 make QUENCH a solid Android-powered device.

Finally, MOTOBLUR provides end-users with convenience and peace of mind, as lost devices can be located from a secure personal information portal and even remotely erased if necessary. Then, one user name and password brings back your contacts, messages and connectivity to your previously configured networks and email providers. Plus, with over-the-air updates, Motorola has the ability to improve current features and add new ones to QUENCH, ensuring the overall experience is continually enhanced.

With a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen framed by a super-slim 4.8 mm bezel, the LG Pop has been a big hit with customers looking for a compact phone that has all the features they need built right in. With access to social network sites on its home screen, the LG Pop allows users to update their status on sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter on the
go at any time.

“From the start we based the LG Pop on customer needs, leading us to create a compact and intuitive touchscreen phone that wasn’t weighed down by useless features,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “LG Pop offers most of the benefits of a smartphone without the steep learning curve. There’s still a
huge market out there for phones that do everything right out of the box.”

The LG Pop has won plaudits for its innovative use of green technology. With the optional solar battery cover, every 10 minutes the phone spends in the sun generates over two minutes of talk time or 180 minutes of standby time. Thanks to the phone’s Eco-tree and Eco-calculator applications, users can even calculate exactly how much CO2 has been cut
by using the solar battery cover.

In addition to its cheerful name, the LG Pop debuted with a new user interface that included quirky icons and a bright color scheme. Changeable rear covers (available in most regions) added to the phone’s list of customizable features. Where offered, covers are available in fluorescent shades of pink, green and orange, peanut-patterned black and silver, an XO pattern and glossy white. Starting next month, two new phone colors, aqua blue and lime, will be added to the Pop’s
palette.

Today at Mobile World Congress 2010, Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled the next generation of Windows® Phones, Windows Phone 7 Series. With this new platform, Microsoft offers a fresh approach to phone software, distinguished by smart design and truly integrated experiences that bring to the surface the content people care about from the Web and applications. For the first time ever, Microsoft will bring together Xbox LIVE games and the Zune music and video experience on a mobile phone, exclusively on Windows Phone 7 Series. Partners have already started building phones; customers will be able to purchase the first phones in stores by holiday 2010.

“Today, I’m proud to introduce Windows Phone 7 Series, the next generation of Windows Phones,” said Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer at Microsoft. “In a crowded market filled with phones that look the same and do the same things, I challenged the team to deliver a different kind of mobile experience. Windows Phone 7 Series marks a turning point toward phones that truly reflect the speed of people’s lives and their need to connect to other people and all kinds of seamless experiences.”

Designed for Life in Motion

With Windows Phone 7 Series, Microsoft takes a fundamentally different approach to phone software. Smart design begins with a new, holistic design system that informs every aspect of the phone, from its visually appealing layout and motion to its function and hardware integration. On the Start screen, dynamically updated “live tiles” show users real-time content directly, breaking the mold of static icons that serve as an intermediate step on the way to an application. Create a tile of a friend, and the user gains a readable, up-to-date view of a friend’s latest pictures and posts, just by glancing at Start.

Every Windows Phone 7 Series phone will come with a dedicated hardware button for Bing, providing one-click access to search from anywhere on the phone, while a special implementation of Bing search provides intent-specific results, delivering the most relevant Web or local results, depending on the type of query.

Windows Phone 7 Series creates an unrivaled set of integrated experiences on a phone through Windows Phone hubs. Hubs bring together related content from the Web, applications and services into a single view to simplify common tasks. Windows Phone 7 Series includes six hubs built on specific themes reflecting activities that matter most to people:

• People. This hub delivers an engaging social experience by bringing together relevant content based on the person, including his or her live feeds from social networks and photos. It also provides a central place from which to post updates to Facebook and Windows Live in one step.

• Pictures. This hub makes it easy to share pictures and video to a social network in one step. Windows Phone 7 Series also brings together a user’s photos by integrating with the Web and PC, making the phone the ideal place to view a person’s entire picture and video collection.

• Games. This hub delivers the first and only official Xbox LIVE experience on a phone, including Xbox LIVE games, Spotlight feed and the ability to see a gamer’s avatar, Achievements and gamer profile. With more than 23 million active members around the world, Xbox LIVE unlocks a world of friends, games and entertainment on Xbox 360, and now also on Windows Phone 7 Series.

• Music + Video. This hub creates an incredible media experience that brings the best of Zune, including content from a user’s PC, online music services and even a built-in FM radio into one simple place that is all about music and video. Users can turn their media experience into a social one with Zune Social on a PC and share their media recommendations with like-minded music lovers. The playback experience is rich and easy to navigate, and immerses the listener in the content.

• Marketplace. This hub allows the user to easily discover and load the phone with certified applications and games.

• Office. This hub brings the familiar experience of the world’s leading productivity software to the Windows Phone. With access to Office, OneNote and SharePoint Workspace all in one place, users can easily read, edit and share documents. With the additional power of Outlook Mobile, users stay productive and up to date while on the go.

Availability

Partners from around the world have committed to include Windows Phone 7 Series in their portfolio plans. They include mobile operators AT&T, Deutsche Telekom AG, Orange, SFR, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telefónica, Telstra, T-Mobile USA, Verizon Wireless and Vodafone, and manufacturers Dell, Garmin-Asus, HTC Corp., HP, LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba and Qualcomm Inc. The first phones will be available by holiday 2010.

LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, is set to make another major splash in the touchphone market with the release of its LG Cookie Plus (LG GS500), a slick new 3G handset with SNS capabilities. Offering the same full touchscreen experience as the LG Cookie, its popular predecessor, the LG Cookie Plus is raising the bar with a host of exciting new features.

“The LG Cookie Plus is both a celebration of the original Cookie phone, which brought touchscreen technology to all, and an exciting first step in our new line of phones that will continue the Cookie legacy by adding creativity and affordability to the touch experience,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

Sociable, enjoyable and affordable, the LG Cookie Plus follows its successful predecessor in offering a full touchscreen, but enhances the Cookie experience with a fun graphical interface and convenient social networking connectivity.

Centered on social networking, the LG Cookie Plus boasts a flurry of friendly networking features. Easy SNS usability brings Facebook to your mobile screen for a simple social networking experience, while Twitter, Flickr and other top sites are also supported. LG’s unique peer management application, LiveSquare™, adds a visually dynamic and interactive dimension to keeping up with your closest contacts.

Maintaining the playful spirit of its forerunner, the LG Cookie Plus is equipped with fun features to keep you both engaged and entertained. LG’s Editable Screenshot MMS,which captures web images for editing and sending, is a creative social communication solution, while the animated UI and colourful theme options offer a splash of imagination and personality.

To build on the success of the original Cookie, LG plans to offer a full batch of new Cookie handsets in 2010. The new line of affordable touchscreen phones, to be unveiled over the next few months, will offer something to suit a variety of ages and tastes.
The LG Cookie Plus will be rolled out globally to 45 countries beginning with France and Italy in early March.

LG Electronics (LG), one of the global leaders and technology innovators in mobile communications, has announced the launch of the LG GT350, a new QWERTY messaging phone with built-in applications for major social networks, all optimized for its 3-inch full touchscreen.

The LG GT350 improves upon the earlier LG KS360, a messaging phone that has sold over five million units worldwide since its launch in August 2008. Both phones have slide-out full QWERTY keypads designed specifically for the textually-minded.

”More powerful than its predecessor, the LG GT350 includes upgrades to its messaging and social networking experience. Opening its slider reveals a large, comfortable four-line QWERTY keypad, versus a three-line keyboard on the earlier model, which makes typing messages almost as easy as on a computer. What’s more, the 3-inch WQVA screen on GT350 is now fully touch enabled, an upgrade from the partial touchscreen on the original KS360,”LG Electronics reported.

Social networking is a strong suit for the LG GT350. Its entire interface is optimized for social networks, providing full integration with sites like Facebook, Twitter. It aggregates information from multiple social networks onto one screen, making it easy to instantly check status updates, keep track of friends and respond to messages. For direct access to social networking sites, the LG GT350 has a dedicated shortcut key on the keypad. In addition to social networking, the keypad also includes dedicated buttons for accessing push e-mail, the web browser and instant messaging.

With real-time push e-mail, the LG GT350 immediately notifies users when they receive new e-mails. Registering multiple e-mail accounts is easy and messages are ready for viewing as soon as the GT350 intercepts them.

The LG GT350 will be available in Europe from this April and will then launch in other markets around the world. The phone will come in four color combinations including Aqua Blue, Purple, Light Silver, and Black, some of which will be exclusive to specific carriers.

One of the upcoming mobile phones that should land on the market with Google’s Android operating system on board is the HTC Incredible, which has just emerged in a series of leaked photos, as well as in a video that is meant to offer us a glimpse at what it can deliver. The handset hasn’t been officially unveiled, though rumors on it already emerged into the wild.

The upcoming HTC Incredible is expected to arrive on the market on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless, and is said to come pre-loaded with the latest iteration of Google’s Android operating system, namely with Android 2.1, which is currently available only on the Nexus One by HTC. Moreover, it seems that the Incredible should also boast a Snapdragon processor inside, which is expected to be coupled with 256MB of RAM.

Other specifications of the mobile phone also include the presence of a 3.5 or 3.7-inch touchscreen display that boasts a WVGA resolution, and which is said to probably be AMOLED. Considering that HTC already opted for this type of screen with Nexus One, there are great chances that the Incredible will also include the technology. The HTC Sense solution should also be present with the device, it seems.

According to pocketnow, the source that provided the photos and video with the handset also said a few words on it, such as the fact that the touchscreen display seems to be “very vibrant,” and that the phone is “fast, really fast” due to the Snapdragon processor inside. Moreover, it also said that the HTC Incredible was expected to arrive with an optical mouse pointer placed at the bottom of it, and that it would include dual LED flash on the back.
